New APIs introduced
Wednesday, 3 September 2008, 09:54

HI5 NETWORKS has announced the release of OpenSocial 0.8. The updated standard reportedly features a set of common RESTful application programming interfaces.

The new APIs will allow developers to select a preferred language for the creation of applications that retrieve and update data across various platforms.

The OpenSocial 0.8 interface also offers an improved and secure environment for the creation of programs slated to be utilised on mobile devices and traditional websites.

According to hi5 CTO Akash Garg, "OpenSocial is core to our strategy of providing users with new, immersive and engaging ways to use hi5 – so we are very pleased to be the first of the OpenSocial partners to adopt the 0.8 standard”. µ
