Blizz brings game music to Itunes

Geeks get into the groove, on the move
Friday, 5 September 2008, 10:18

GAMERS CAN NOW reminisce about that great Zerg rush or the first time they slayed Onyxia while away from their PCs, thanks to a deal between Blizzard and Apple.

The agreement means that a wide selection of music from popular Blizz games has been added to the iTunes store.

So far six albums are available for DRM infected download. The include the original soundtracks for StarCraft, Diablo II, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade and World of Warcraft: Taverns of Azeroth.

The deal will be promoted on a Blizzard Entertainment hub page within the iTunes store, which will also include other material such as podcasts and gameplay footage.

For a limited time the "Diablo III Overture" will be available as a single Discovery Download, making it free to download until 9 September.

Those wishing to hear the music from their favourite games without having to go through the hell that is Itunes, can always opt to buy the Collectors edition of the game, which usually includes the soundtrack on CD. ยต

Now I can finally listen...

...to the music that I've muted forever. Not saying the music itself is poor, but it does get tedious when you have 200 days /played.
