Microsoft rants at Sony's broken promises
BRIGHTON BASED gaming site, Eurogamer, has an in-depth look at the difference between GTA IV on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Though both consoles do a good job, it seems the 360 just pips the PS3 for image quality.
This isn't the only area in which the Xbox has the slight edge - Microsoft has released data claiming the 360 has sold over 60 per cent of the launch week copies of GTA IV.
Xbox 360 Not only has Microsoft won more sales of GTA IV, it also ensured Microsoft sold a bucket load of consoles.
Gamedaily.com reports that 360 sales jumped 125 per cent.
Microsoft's Xbox 360 group product manager Aaron Greenberg has attacked Sony for what he sees as a failure to deliver on promises made by the firm.
"Where are all the other products using and networking with their Cell chip? How come Blu-ray did not result in better games? What happened with Sixaxis and rumble? Where is the complete 1080p game library we were promised? If Blu-ray, as they said, would be such a catalyst to PS3 console sales, then why have PS3 sales over the past couple months not seen any lift since the format victory?" he said, among a longer rant viewable here.

Speaking at the Playstation Day during last week, the president of Sony Computer
Entertainment Kaz Hirai
apologised
for teething problems during the launch year of the Playstation 3 and the
disappointment of delaying Playstation Home - the highly anticipated social
networking application which will be launched free of charge for owners of the
console.
Sony's PSP goes from strength-to-strength this year, with news that gamers have purchased another 100,000 units in the week ending May 4th.
Sony has finally launched the PSP headset with Skype functionality in the US, after previously debuting in Japan in March. Joystiq has the details.
Wii/DS
Whilst Sony's PSP is selling strongly, Nintendo's Wii software is selling by the
bucket-load.
Mario Kart on the Wii has already sold 1 million in Japan.
Nintendo has switched on a new 'Nintendo' Wii channel in the US, that offers game trailers, interviews, DS demos and a game rating system.
The channel is available as a free download in the Wii Shop's WiiWare section.
It seems EA want a piece of the success of Wii Fit, and will be releasing an EA branded Wii fitness game - which utilises the Nintendo-supplied balance board. µ

We all know who owns EuroGamer, and why they are so desperate to pretend the 360 version of GTA is somehow better. Anyone that's played both versions knows the Eurogamer article to be pure BS. You only have to look at the load time which are much slower on the 360 (something they conviently "forgot" to review), and the massive amounts of pop-up on the 360 version to see how ridiculus their "comparision" is. Also of interested, if your obvious bias, as PS3 consoles sales jumped more of the back of GTA IV than 360 sales, but you don't bother mentioning that, instead focus on the lesser jump in 360 console sales (which were lower than the PS3 anway). The promise of fixing the Xbox360. They havn't honoured that promise yet, after 2 and a half years. What a bunch of hypocrites.
@ Mak: I'm tired of stupid little fanbois. If you actually read the article, you will see they commented on the pop-up. Do you like to make a fool of yourself in public or what? Compare the screen shots and vids, things that cannot be biased as they capture the exact same scene in both, and your'll see the 360 has a SLIGHT edge overall. Rockstar even used 360 preview screenshots before release, they would not do that if they thought the PS3 version looked better. But both version are extremely equal.
That the PS3 had the better looking graphics, etc. from reading all of the recent articles. Am I confused?
Is the SDF here? I have not seen any pop-ups or slow load times. My nephew still has his POS3 (thinking about selling it) and we notice no difference in graphics, the sixaxis still sucks compared to 360 controller. I sold my POS3 months ago! Sorry, EuroGamer was right. Fanboys go home!

Do you optimize the game to work on the most powerful system and let the poor people below it suffer or do you optimize it to work on the lowest and adjust it to work on the most powerful. Well guess what you make it for the lowest. MS think before you start pointing fingers. Im a proud owner of the PS3 and a disappointed owner of a 360. Both have died on me Sony actually replaced mine MS wouldn’t even let me send mine in.

Sorry, GTA IV is not coming for PC, just like Crysis, PC development is ramping down, and console development is ramping up. You can thank rampant piracy on PC platform for that.
Seems like ps3 fanbios is taken this a bit hard dont ya think?, just over a review. how old are the readers of this site? 12-13, thats what alot of your seem like, grow up, both console are good, but ps3 owners are overprotective of "there consoles" because xbox 360 is doing better?, also if you do a little research, you would know that gta4 was postpone because of issues with the ps3 version, so of course it would look better on the 360, deveoplers are still finding it hard to make games on the ps3. Personal oppion but i believe the cell chip is overhype, its a processor thats no good for gaming, it be be better once it come to a pc, and used in a office envirment. with applications.
I'm curious what load times you're seeing on the 360? The only one I've noticed is the 25ish second one at start up which honestly I don't think anyone cares about. Also, where are you getting these "pop ups"? Only time I ever got them was to save the game which I'm sure the PS3 has as well except for maybe the one-time popup of which device you want to save the game to on the xbox that only shows up the first time you save unless you clear the cache which is rare.
