PS3 to get trophies
SONY'S PSP is still topping sales figures in Japan.
According to Gamesindustry.biz the PSP shifted 64,449 units over the past week ending May 25th, with the Wii at second place with 49,047 units sold. The Nintendo DS sold 37,404 units, and the PS3 only managed a meagre 9,071 units.
Xbox 360 Whilst the 360's sales figures in Japan are so small they're worth ignoring, this doesn't mean the console isn't doing well in the West.
Sales of the Xbox 360 are 18 per cent ahead of the Playstation 3 in the UK since the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV, Chart-Track informed Eurogamer last week.
Good news for those who've been wondering how some titles were going to fit within the 150MB limit imposed by Microsoft for Xbox Live - Microsoft has upped the limit to 350MB, and also allowed content providers to charge up to 1600 MS points (first seen in Penny Arcade's new game).
Sadly, there won't be a Spring dashboard update this year for your Xbox 360 - Microsoft has announced via Xbox Live manager Marc Whitten, that the company intends to instead focus on "building the proper infrastructure and scale for the service."
PS3/PSP
It looks more and more likely that the PS3 will get its own version of the Xbox
360 achievements, as Bioshock 'trophies' have been spotted within the PS3 XMB at
Maxconsole.
This comes shortly after Videogaming247 printed rumours concerning an in-game XMB and trophies in the upcoming 2.4 firmware - which will allegedly appear sometime this month.
Wii/DS
Though the PSP is beating the Wii in Japan, US sales of the Wii have recently
reached a massive 9.5 million units reports

In April alone, Nintendo shifted 714,200 Wiis onto our American cousins. The DS came in second, with 414,800 units - but the PSP couldn't even manage half of this total with only 192,700 consoles sold.
This week (or should that be 'wiik'?) saw the launch of Wiiware in Europe. Six titles have been initially made available including the much vaunted 'Lost Winds'. Titles start at 500 Wii points.

Who cares which sells more than the other, mines more popular than yours!!, WTF. Hows bout which is a better machine, clearly the PS3. But theres a problem, where are the games?. Not many exclusives. Havin both machines i much preffer Xbox over PS3.Gutted havin to pay £40 PA for but it has loads of more games, demos, live games, online play available. PS3 is quality but its like an Enzo restricted top speed 30mph. One day the PS3 will destroy the XBOX, (No time soon tho, 2 x years time) Sony - Where are the GAMES!!!! Microsoft - Please dont RROD me again!!
why you use Eurogamer are source? It's well know they are a bunch of PS3 hating Xbots.. For example, they report about GTA IV increasing Xbox360 hardware sales. Whilst this is true, it's worth pointing out the FULL story, that PS3 has outsold the 360 for the last 20 weeks in the UK, GTA IV weeks included. Sure Xbox has narrowed the gap slightly, but by not reporting this, it gives a VERY misleading impression. But then I suppose that's what you wanted to do right??

Apparently it's supposed to be coming with the most demanded thing In-Game XMB. Where you can send messages, start a private chat just like 360 but inclusion of the trophies which I think is a great idea. I liked the achievements for 360 when I had one made the game more longer and divided you off the main story/plot whatever. 2.40 FW is coming before MGS4 so a lot of threads on forums I've read.
2.4 frimwar went out to test devs out a couple weeks ago it will be ready around mgs4 launch date also trophies are comming 4 sure unless they totaly pull out of frimwar update which is a ton of work
Are you implying that the Inq is pro MS? The Inq can be accused of many things, possibly including light treason, but I don't think devotion to MS is one of them. Incidentally, I speak as someone who likes sony but bought a 360 for the better set of games.
Wait I thought Eurogamer were a bunch of PS3 loving 360 hating sony fans or was that last year? It's so hard to keep up with the fanboy allegiances. Seeing the Inq' accused of MS fanboyism is a new one. If you read the eurogamer article helpfully linked by the inq' to get the FULL story it says looking at the 21 weeks in 08 the PS3 is 10% ahead of the 360 down from a 20% lead pre GTA IV.
