Sony ignores PS3 Wiimote rumours

Console round-up Blu-ray Xbox 360 rumours (again)

BEFORE WE DELVE into the console news, you may be interested to know that Crackle has a sneak peak of Duke Nukem 3D - possibly the most delayed game in history.

Xbox 360 Crunchgear has had a tipster forward a leak that suggest Microsoft may announce a Blu-ray Xbox 360 one hour prior to Apple's WWDC to spoil Steve's party.

We're not sure any Apple zealot cares, and it's possible Robbie Bach has already quashed the rumours saying, "That is so far out that there isn't anything to talk about."

Microsoft has announced a cull of under-performing Xbox 360 Live Arcade titles with Director of product management, Aaron Greenberg, stating to Gamesindustry.biz, "You will see developers take more time, make use of the new additional storage space and focus on game quality now more than ever to ensure the title is well received."

He also said to MTV's multiplayerblog that Microsoft was unhappy with the ability to find things on Live. That makes two of us.

If you're into modding your 360 and fed up with the noisy fan, check out this new heatsink from Thermalright.

PS3/PSP
Sony is quietly ignoring rumours of a PS3 Wiimote-like device, according to Eurogamer.

Apparently, reports have suggested that Sony held secret focus groups in the US at the beginning of the year, where console owners were shown the motion-sensing device.

According to Next-gen.biz Sony will release a "Cinnabar Red" Playstation 2, two "Metallic Blue" PSP packs and a Playstation Eye bundle next month in Japan. Alternatively you could get yourself a free Playstation Bluetooth headset with a copy of SOCOM.

Though Microsoft's Live is looking antiquated next to Sony's PS3 offering, Ted Price, boss of Resistance 2 developer Insomniac Games, stated, "I know there are a lot of great improvements in the works so I'd rather comment after they've become public," to Eurogamer.

Wii/DS
The Wiire reports that 100 Wiiware games are on the way to a Wii near you.

The same source also has news on a Wii Facebook app, for those who love social notworking.

As if Wiimote guns and crossbow's weren't good enough, someone has developed a Wii spray-can. µ

Xbox Live outdated...Compared to the PS3?

How is Microsoft's product looking antiquated compared to the PS3's online service? \

Xbox live has more available content, a better matchmaking interface for most games, more stable/reliable service, and faster service (looking solely at COD4 load-times, only game I've played almost side-by-side on different consoles.)

Sure, there's a fee, but it's a solid deal for the cost of a game a year.

Duke Nukem 3D

Duke Nukem 3D, the most delayed game in history? It was out 12 years ago, only 2 years after the previous installment, Duke Nukem 2! Would hardly consider that delayed.
