No Playstation 3 price-drop planned

Console round-up Plus Microsoft E3 bingo

NOT CONTENT WITH producing a variety of motion controllers for every console platform in current existence, Golive2 has announced a Wiimote-esque controller for the PC.

The Stix 200 works with a variety of web-based games, while the 400 version looks like it may also work with standard PC games. It will be available in August.

Xbox 360
Joystiq presents an interesting use of the Microsoft E3 rumours - bingo style.

Earlier this week the rumour mill was in a twist as Ken Lobb, creative director at Microsoft studios, made comments that were interpreted as suggesting that Banjo Kazooie would use the new motion controller expected to be announced at E3.

Microsoft later stated that there were 'no truth' in these rumours.

Australian site Gadgetzone has a list of things you may (or may not) wish to do with your obsolete HD-DVD drive.

The Gears of War 2 release date seems to have been unveiled - November 9th according to Eurogamer.

In what could be the only Duke Nukem release this side of Armageddon, leaked pics of the XBLA version of the game have been spotted.

PS3/PSP
A leaked Wal-Mart memo at Joystiq has started a rumour that the 40GB PS3 may be replaced in August with a different model.

Unlike Microsoft, Sony has no plans for a PS3 price-drop.

Speaking to investors, chief financial officer Nobuyuki Oneda said that the company remained focused on profitability for its games division, stating "Our plan is to not reduce the price."

The PSP is still leading the pack in Japan - Sony's portable console sold 56,439 units for the week ended July 6th, while Nintendo's DS sold 47,455 units.

Wii/DS
Mark Rein is still having a pop at the Wii here.

Another Wii hack has been shown, this time using the Nunchuk for animation purposes. Gizmodo has the lowdown. µ
