Apple plans to make 45 million Iphones

FRUIT-THEMED toy maker Apple plans to make more than 45 million of its incredibly unreliable Iphones in the next 12 months.

Despite complaints of dropped connections, slow speeds, melting batteries, Apple has not been able to make enough of its Iphones to do around.

According to Business Week, Apple plans to build 40 million to 45 million iPhone 3Gs in the 12 months through August 2009.

Quoting a deep throat in Apple, the publication said Apple boosted its production plans when initial sales proved stronger than the company expected.

Originally Jobs' Mob expected to build 30 million 3G Iphones in 12 months. All Apple has ever said is that it wanted to flog 10 million Iphone 3Gs in 2008.

This would require the Cuppercino based outfit to flog the Jesus phone in many more countries than it does now. Already, Russian and China have been named by the pundits. µ

that's 10M iPhones of any kind

Apple's published target is ten million iPhones in calendar year 2008 (that includes the original, and any subsequent models). So in fact the iPhone 3G target is between 7 and 8 million (unless they introduce an iPhone Nano for Christmas as well!). They should comfortably reach that by the end of September.
