New Xbox 360 dashboard comes in November

Console round-up Get wood for your Wii

IF YOU'RE BORED off the current crop of consoles, you may wish to grab yourself some good old fashioned retro-gaming.

Eurogamer has an in-depth look at the SegaMegadrive handheld now available.

Unfortunately the mag reckons the majority of games available for it are cack.

Xbox 360
The new dashboard is expected this Autumn, in November.

Rumour has it that, unsurprisingly, Halo 4 is in the works, but by Gearbox.

The US Xbox 360 price-cut is definitely on - a variety of new sources are now proving the cut is inevitable.

There's Joystiq Radioshack proof right here.

Unsurprisingly, after the surge of Japanese Xbox 360 sales last week, 360 sales have fallen back to earth in the far-east.

Bit-tech has a review of a replacement case for your Xbox 360 - making it quieter and more like a PC. Yay.

PS3/PSP
It seems the new 80GB PS3 may in fact also come with a 65nm RSX chip according to owners.

The PSP has surpassed 10 million sales in Japan, despite a dearth of quality triple-A titles.

It seems the next firmware upgrade for the PSP, version 2.5, is expected to have a screen-grabbing utility.

Wii/DS
Unfortunately Nintendo has denied recent rumours of a newDS.

If you fancied having wooden Wii accessories, now's your chance. In fact they're quite beautiful - in a very geeky way. µ

Wow...avatars...how quaint and twee!

So we get very little in the way of new features for the 360 for ages (cept a half-arsed attempt at DivX capability) and all we get is a dubious new flying window front end and...AVATARS!

I mean come on are we 12 years old? Am I the only one that thinks avatars are really quite childish and pathetic?

How about custom monitor support, external USB HDD support or a decent priced HDD drive that will actually allow us to use some media on the damn thing?

I mean being able to copy the game to the HDD..wow thats a great feature for the 85% of us with no HDD or the 20Gb (read 13Gb) HDD.

I really do think MS are winding the 360 down for the next one. Shame.
